TPI GOLF ASSESSMENT

TPI (Titleist Performance Institute)

Assessment Overview

What Is TPI?

TPI stands for the Titleist Performance Institute, the world’s leading authority on the biomechanics of the golf swing.

TPI does not believe there is one perfect swing for everyone—rather, there is one efficient swing for each golfer, based on what their body can physically do.

The foundation of TPI is the Body–Swing Connection, which links physical limitations in the body to specific swing characteristics and potential injury risk.

Who is a TPI Assessment for?

A TPI Assessment is ideal for golfers of all levels, including:

  • Any Golfer with Pain or Limitations

Those experiencing pain during or after swinging, or looking to prevent future injuries and swing          more efficiently.

  • Weekend & Recreational Golfers
Players wanting to improve performance, gain distance, and eliminate frustrating swing flaws.

  • Injured Golfers
Individuals returning to golf after injury who need a safe, structured path back to play.

  • Competitive Golfers

Professionals and elite amateurs looking to maximize power, consistency, and endurance.

What Does a TPI Assessment Include?

Our TPI Assessment is performed by combining

In-Office and On-Site (golf course/range or Simulator) Data and will cover:

1. Physical Screening
A standardized series of 16 movement tests designed to evaluate golf-specific:

Mobility          Strength          Flexibility

Stability          Balance

Key areas assessed include hip and shoulder mobility, rotational control, core strength, and body separation.

2. Swing Analysis (When Applicable)
Observation of the golfer’s swing to identify common swing patterns or faults such as:

S-Posture

Early Extension

Reverse Spine Angle

3. Body–Swing Connection Analysis
Physical findings are directly linked to swing characteristics.
Example: Limited hip internal rotation may contribute to sway or slide during the swing.

4. Personalized Report & Action Plan
Each assessment concludes with a customized plan that may include:

  • Corrective exercises and mobility work

  • Strength and stability training recommendations

  • Guidance for golf instruction adjustments

  • Injury prevention strategies

Benefits of a TPI Assessment

  • Injury Prevention
Identifies mobility restrictions, strength deficits, and movement imbalances that increase injury risk—allowing for proactive correction before pain or breakdown occurs.

  • Improved Biomechanics
Optimizes how your body moves through the golf swing by addressing physical limitations that affect rotation, sequencing, and control—leading to a more efficient, repeatable swing.

  • Maximized Performance Factors
Enhances key performance drivers such as swing speed, power transfer, balance, and endurance through individualized mobility and strength strategies tailored to your body.
